Ariana Grande has been under fire for the past few months after her relationship with Ethan Slater went public. Fans aren’t happy with her, and her controversial single has only made things worse.

We’ve definitely, as a society, had a lot of empathy for Ariana Grande. Everyone knows about her hardships in the industry. Since she was a child star, she has had to endure so much to get to where she is now.

We also know about the horrifying attack at her concert in Manchester and the passing of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller. I genuinely believe that a person will feel the effects of these traumatic incidents for a long time, and they can leave severe PTSD.

However, even empathy doesn’t go that far sometimes, especially when someone continues to act in a way that leaves her fans questioning their loyalty to such a superstar.

If you’ve been living under a rock, then you may not know what’s actually going on, which is why we’ll try to make things a little bit easier for you.

The drama with Ethan Slater

Ariana Grande and Ethan got to know each other on the set of ‘Wicked,’ where she’s playing Glinda Upland, the Good Witch. It’s been rumored that they’ve been dating since July of last year.

The worst thing about it? Well, this happened right about the time when the rumors of Ariana’s divorce from her ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, started. However, there have also been reports that say that Ethan has cheated on his ex-wife Lily Jay with Ariana, and after that, they separated.

Lily Jay has said that she and her husband at the time were actually going out with Grande and Gomez, where Ariana held their newborn baby and was talking about how she couldn’t wait to be a mother herself.

Who knew that this would go in the wrong direction and that Ariana herself would be the person who took her husband away?

There wouldn’t be such discourse about this topic if it weren’t for the fact that Ariana was known for being a homewrecker. When you look at her dating history, there were so many instances where she went after men who were already taken or had freshly broken up with their previous partners.

I wouldn’t go into too much depth when it comes to this topic, because most of it is hearsay.

People have been siding with Lily Jay, and they’ve been criticizing Ariana’s behavior after this. She’s lost so many followers online, and some ex-fans are even talking about canceling her in general.

I mean, Ariana Grande wouldn’t be the first celebrity with relationship drama attached to her name, but people are expecting more from the person they look up to, especially considering that this wasn’t her first incident.

Let me just say this before we go any further into this topic: no one is saying that Ethan Slater isn’t at fault here! I hope he knows what he’s done and how badly this has impacted his career and personal life.

He’ll end up single, without a job, while paying child support, and not even having visitation rights for his child. Either way, it’s his fault. But considering that Ariana Grande has a history of being a homewrecker, she’s under the radar even more.

I mean, there are so many men out there, and she even had a husband! She doesn’t have to go after men in relationships or married men with children!

Do you remember the song “Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored”? It’s believed that this was the first moment when she showed awareness of her actions. People thought that it was satire, that it was nothing more than a joke; however, after a while, it was obvious that it was more than that.

Even then, she got criticized for the topic of her song.

Now, Ariana Grande has a new single titled “Yes, And?” which left her fans and the entire public speechless.

The “Yes, And?” controversy

“Yes, And?” is the newly released single of the pop-star sensation that we’re covering today. Her song was released on January 12th, and since then, people haven’t stopped talking about it.

However, around 400,000 people have unfollowed Ari on Instagram, because they didn’t want to be part of this narrative anymore.

You wouldn’t understand the controversy of this single without the long explanation you read up until this point. So, let’s get right into it.

Within this entire music video, Ariana Grande and her PR team are doing their best to spin this narrative and paint her as the good guy. The beginning depicts people gossiping about her, making you, the listener, believe that they’re the bad guys for not having anything better to talk about.

Instead of apologizing for her actions and making sure she rekindles the love between her and her fans, she just makes sure to paint every critic in a bad light.

Critics have even pointed out the extreme similarities between this song and Paula Abdul’s “Cold Hearted,” because they kind of sound the same, and even the video concepts are extremely similar.

“Your business is yours, and mine is mine. Why do you care so much whose **** I ride?

No, you’re not reading this wrong. Those are the actual lyrics of the song.

So, it’s understandable why critics and fans would be angry with the singer! She really has to do a better job of explaining herself than trying to manipulate everyone into believing that we’re the ones who are in the wrong.
