Love – a magical word that evokes different feelings in different people. For you, it may feel like a warm home you come to after a rainy day outside.
For me, it feels like a meadow, filled with flowers and bathed in sun.
But no matter how you feel about it, love always requires the same things.
In order to work out, love needs effort. It needs you to try and try, over and over again.
You give your best to make the person you love feel loved. Every day and every night, no matter how hard life gets.
Because, when you love someone, you never stop trying…
And this is how!
When you love someone, you always show effort!
It doesn’t have to be something huge, as love is about the little things.
I don’t need you to book us a vacation. That won’t impress me.
But the thought that you stopped at the grocery store to buy me my favorite chocolate – to me, that speaks effort.
The idea that you tried to calm me down when I was having a panic attack – that is effort.
Effort is you sticking with me through thick and thin because you love me. And when you love someone, that’s what you do.
You focus on the person and not on their flaws and you find a way to work through things.
There is nothing better than the thought that working together, we created our own little world that we won’t let anyone tear down.
The effort we put into it is a sign of our love, and that is all I need.
When you love someone, you always show that you care!
In this fast-paced world, I may forget to care about myself. I may focus on other things too much.
But trust me, I won’t forget to care about you and I know that you won’t forget to care about me.
When you love someone, you don’t forget about them easily.
Instead, you put them in front of you because their happiness becomes more important than yours. You always check on them to see how they are doing.
You make them soup when they are sick and you kiss them goodnight before you go to sleep.
The little things that mean so much – I told you only that is what matters.
We can promise each other mountains and oceans but if we don’t show that we care through small acts of kindness, then all our words are said in vain.
I want us to feel that we care for each other. To wake up and think, “How lucky I am.”
When you love someone, you always listen to them!
If I love you, I will listen to you. I will cheer you up when you’re having a bad day and I will give you advice when you need my help.
Sometimes, I won’t say anything but I promise you that I will listen.
I won’t just sit next to you, letting the words you say end up unheard. Instead, I will focus on them and I will soak up each and every one like a sponge.
I will try to understand how you feel and I will try to make it better for you.
You won’t have to struggle to get my attention because you will have it fully and completely.
Nothing else could mean more to me than the sound of your voice. I want to hear it until the end of my days.
(I guess that’s how it feels when you love someone – you want it to last as long as possible.)
When you love someone, you always have their back!
You will never fight your battles alone. I will always have your back, no matter how hard things get.
If you support me, I will support you, and that is all that matters. We can be each other’s partner in crime, always there to help.
I won’t let you struggle through life on your own. As long as we have each other, we will be the ones we can count on.
You will be my shelter and I will be your safe zone. No one could protect me better than you can. I just know it!
When you love someone, you act like you are thirteen years old!
I want our relationship to be fun and filled with tears of happiness.
To go for a walk at 2 a.m., to build a fort in the living room, and to play hide and seek around the house.
I want us to act like we are kids because that is the only way life won’t break us.
To always work on improving our little world so it can be our hideaway fortress.
When you love someone, you want them to be a child with you. You want them to have fun with you, grow with you, and learn with you.
And I want all of those things. I want to be your New Year’s wish and your shooting star wish. YOUR EVERY DAY WISH!
I want you to never stop trying because that’s what you do when you love someone.

Forever and always, I will put the effort in and dedicate my time to make our relationship a better place.
