There’s nothing more beautiful than loving someone and being loved back. Every human needs to feel that sense of appreciation – it’s really what keeps most of us going.
However, sustaining a healthy relationship isn’t an easy task as you inevitably go through the ups and downs of life. Some people eventually pull through the hardships, but others aren’t as lucky.
When that day finally comes, and you have to say goodbye to your loved one, it’s a terrifying feeling. It’s a mix of emotions that bundle up inside of you and explode in many different ways.
You and your now-ex could have totally different reactions to it. Each person deals with breakups in their own way. Some people get over it pretty quickly while others seem to freeze in time.
This just might have something to do with your zodiac sign. All twelve zodiacs have their distinct characteristics and personality traits.
These make all of us differ from one another. Consequently, our reaction to splitting up is bound to be diverse. As a Scorpio, I probably wouldn’t shed a tear, but I know Cancer would be balling their eyes out.
As women, we can’t help but think about whether men feel the same thing after a breakup. We’re known to be more on the sensitive side, but just how true is that?
Well, you’d be surprised when I tell you that men also handle breakups based on their zodiac signs. It might be a tad different because, you know, they like to play tough. After all, they’re considered the stronger gender.
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
This feisty sign has a mind of its own. Aries men can be quite stubborn and spiteful. Therefore, he’ll almost always be the one to initiate the breakup.
If he senses that you want to end things between you, he’ll try to get ahead of you. He doesn’t want to be the one who gets hurt and grieves.
It may be like some sort of competition to this sign. The one who dumps their partner is the winner and doesn’t get to feel as much hurt and pain as they would if they were the dumpee.
To others, Aries appears to handle a breakup quite well. However, he can seem really cowardly to his ex.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
It goes without saying that this is one of the most headstrong signs out there. They don’t really like change, so a breakup could potentially shake them up.
The thing a Taurean values most is loyalty, so he’ll probably still try to mend things before giving up entirely. It may be seen as annoying and you may think of him as that naggy ex who keeps texting you.
But a Taurus man just really wants to be sure things are unfixable before he seals the deal. You can’t say he handles the breakup as well as you’d expect of this stubborn sign. However, he’ll move on once he realizes all hope is lost.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
When it comes to Gemini, he handles a breakup vastly different from Aries, for instance. Instead of catching his partner off guard and being the dumper, Gemini will do the opposite.
This zodiac doesn’t like confrontation, so he’ll try everything to avoid one. For example, he could make his girlfriend think that a breakup is what she wants.
He’s pretty clever and can wrap you around his finger in no time. Therefore, we can say that a Gemini can definitely handle a breakup.
The same way he got into your head and made you carry out that decision, that’s how he’ll carry on, unnoticed and unbothered.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
If you’ve ever met a Cancer before, I think you might have a hint about what he’ll be like through a breakup. These emotional crabs will try to grin and bear it and carry on as if nothing happened, but it just doesn’t work for them.
Emotions keep pouring out of them and there’s no way to stop them. They’re highly affectionate and devoted, so they will likely have a hard time dealing with the aftermath.
A Cancer man looks for a long-term relationship and bonds with someone on a deep level. Splitting up is the last thing on his mind.
However, he will gradually get over it using various techniques. He may even be angry at himself for not being able to let go of it that easily.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
I don’t think there’s much to say about how this sign handles a breakup. We can kind of envision the event in our heads. Leos are full of themselves, and as a true lion, this sign takes pride in everything it does.
A Leo man likes being appreciated and shown love. However, what happens when the fire dies out and the end gets closer? You have a similar scenario as that of Gemini.
He can’t possibly be the one to get dumped, his ego just won’t allow it. He’ll go out of his way to make sure no one hurts his pride.
In his mind, a Leo man handles a breakup pretty well. If you ask him, he’ll say he never really cared about you.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
For this perfectionist sign, breakups may not be an easy thing. Sure, we know Virgo is highly organized and has probably already predicted this happening.
However, how will his pedantic and perfectionist side deal with this sudden change of plans? If he’s the one to decide to end things, Virgo will thoroughly analyze everything before coming to the conclusion.
On the other hand, if he’s the one dumped, a Virgo man will overthink and wonder if it was something he did. It’s also likely that he’ll be highly apologetic even if he didn’t do anything wrong.
Just like Gemini, though, Virgos will do anything to avoid an awkward and unpleasant conversation.
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Libra men are the type of people who will accept your decision for wanting to break up with them and ask no more. They’re totally fine with whatever you decide on because they believe it’s how it has to be.
A Libra isn’t the type to fight or question you about the breakup. Also, if he’s the one initiating the end, he’ll briefly try to explain it to you.
This air sign appreciates the time spent with his partner, no matter what the outcome might be. If he’s had an amazing experience, he’ll cherish it.
You could say that he handles the breakup amazingly, and goes on to have a fulfilled life and try his luck elsewhere.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
This zodiac sign always comes across as mysterious to people yet they believe they know nothing about it. However, they’d be surprised at how wrong they are.
Everyone thinks how Scorpios are cold-hearted, careless people who don’t love anyone. This is entirely wrong. In fact, it’s usually quite the opposite.
They’re highly emotional signs – they need some time to open up. The reason you can’t see the reaction a breakup has on a Scorpio man is that he hides it so well.
Men under this zodiac sign don’t like to show their vulnerability because they don’t trust people. But trust me, Scorpios have a hard time dealing with the end of a long-term relationship.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
This fire sign can be a bit confusing at times. But it all depends on whether they’re the dumper or the dumpee. This role plays a big part in how well a Sag man will handle a breakup.
Usually, it’s all fun and games for him – until he’s the one being dumped. Sagittarius doesn’t seem to be satisfied that easily.
Many women avoid getting involved in a romantic relationship with this zodiac sign because they tend to wander off. Whenever they feel endangered or simply bored, they’ll have no trouble finding a replacement.
However, if a Sag man is on the receiving end of the breakup news, that’s when the tables turn. He’ll be remorseful and try to get his partner back. So we can’t say for sure this sign handles breakups pretty well.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
If you ever had to break up with a Capricorn man, you were probably left dumbfounded by his cold reaction. And it’s not that he didn’t care.
On the contrary. He makes an excellent partner and gives endless support. However, this sign doesn’t have the time to dwell on your decision.
Because of this, a Capricorn man may give off an unbothered vibe. Unlike Scorpios that hide their emotions quite well, Capricorns don’t, but you can still barely notice what they’re feeling.
It’s not that they’re cold-hearted, it’s just that this sign knows how to make peace with it and move on.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Just like Virgos, Aquarius men tend to be really analytical. They’re not hopeless romantics like Cancers, for instance. If you’re trying to separate from an Aquarius, he could possibly talk you out of it.
He has the power of persuasion. His confidence plays a key role in everyday life, so he should also follow the breakup with the same intensity.
An Aquarius isn’t really the type to mourn or stalk their ex. He’ll rather accept the fact and try to move on. This zodiac sign has bigger plans for his future and can’t waste his precious time dwelling on the past.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
Splitting up with Pisces may be a bit weird. You don’t know where you stand because, quite frankly, this sign has the tendency to just vanish.
He tends to not bother too much with stuff that’s been weighing heavily on your chest. Pisces is a really easy-going sign and will avoid facing his partner.
He’s highly emotional, just like Cancer, but with a double dose of wisdom and patience. This sign simply knows when it’s time to go. However, we can’t know for sure how he processes a breakup because he often leaves business unfinished.
Perhaps you were hoping for a mild reaction when breaking the news to him. Well, consider yourself lucky because you won’t even have to deal with any!
