Since you’re reading this, I guess you’re already familiar with the feeling that you don’t fit anywhere. The feeling of being a misfit who has trouble connecting with others, no matter how hard you try.
Growing up, you always felt that no one understood you. You’d try to reach out to people, let them in, but you always failed.
You were probably that one person who was always standing on the side, unable to connect with others.
Maybe you thought that this feeling would pass as you grew older. Maybe you thought that your years and experience would erase the distance between you and other people.
But, even now, you feel that it’s impossible to create a deeper connection with someone.
You don’t understand others and they don’t understand you.
Sometimes, you feel like you live in two entirely different worlds that will never collide.
And because you always felt different, you grew up with the thought that you’re not good enough.
We’re taught that we have to be like others in order to fit in. So, the moment you feel different, you start to think that you’re not worth the attention or time.
You start thinking that you’re not good enough.
How many times have you cried yourself to sleep because you couldn’t understand what’s going on with you? Because you’re feeling like an outsider who’s always on the other side of the room.
And I know how it feels to lead a life where everyone’s standing together and you’re watching them from a distance because you know that you wouldn’t fit in.
But I need you to know something.
Just because you feel different, it doesn’t mean that you don’t deserve love or attention. Just because you feel like a misfit, it doesn’t mean that you’re not worthy.
You have to stop being so hard on yourself.
I know that you think something’s wrong with you. All of us tend to do that in the moments when we feel different from the rest of the group.
But trust me, you don’t need to struggle with fitting in because that’s not what you’re made for. You don’t need to fight to be like all of the others when you’re so much more than that.
You’re unique and different.
Don’t change that by being like everyone else because it won’t make you feel better.
You’ll always be that girl who’s not like the others but has a heart of gold – a heart so pure that no one is not even close to her.
And you should never live your life trying to please others and be like them. Instead, you should embrace who you are and live by loving everything you are.
Think about it. Do you really want to be the same as others or do you want to nurture everything God has given you that others don’t have?
Maybe you see things differently, but so what? It’s better to be an exception than to be shaped by the same mold as everyone else.
You think differently and that’s completely fine. Because there will always be someone who’ll accept you the way you are, someone who’s been looking his whole life for you.
Trust me, you’re not alone. So many people feel the same way as you do.
They struggle to pretend to be someone they actually aren’t only to fit in and they all know how exhausting that can be.
Living your life by acting that you’re different while hating every part of the role that you keep playing.
Why do that?
Free yourself from the restrictions and show the rest of the world your one-of-a-kind beauty.
Some won’t understand you, but it’s not your job to please others. No matter how hard you try to fit others’ standards, there will always be someone who doesn’t like you.
Then why even try when you can be yourself and make yourself happy?
Because that’s the only thing that matters – to be happy with who you are and to never change yourself for others.
Even if it means that you’re supposed to be a misfit your whole life, you should never change that.
Embrace yourself and your otherness. Let your unique beauty shine from within.
You won’t be able to live a fulfilling life until you realize that your happiness comes from the inside.
The moment you accept that you’re beautiful just the way you are – that’s the moment you’ll open doors for yourself that’ll lead you to some of the best experiences of your life.
Learn to love yourself because it’s all that matters.
Others will come and go in your life, but you’re the only one who’s there forever.
Now, the question is, do you want to be stuck with someone who accepts who she is and cherishes herself or with someone who uses every second of her day trash-talking herself?
It’s your choice and your whole future depends on it.
So, do you choose to love who you are?
Because when you finally learn to love yourself, others will follow your lead and learn to love you too.
If you feel like a misfit, don’t ever forget that you’re perfect and unique. Your special personality makes you different and in a world full of clones, it’s good to be different.
Cherish yourself every day of the week and know that you should never change who you are!
