You never treated her like a queen. You didn’t give her the life she deserves. No, you didn’t treat her right, you took her for granted instead. No, you didn’t make her your number one, you made her compete for your love. No, you didn’t confess your love for her, you played mind games and you confused her. No, you didn’t make her feel confident about the connection you had, you made her feel insecure. She was the one who never made you question where you stood in her life. She was the one who was loyal, faithful, and honest from the beginning. She was the one who I said I love you. She was the one who made you special. She was the one who treated you like a king when, in fact, you were just another guy.

You never stayed by her side when she needed you the most. You weren’t there when the one person she wanted to be by her side was you. No, you weren’t there to shelter her in your arms. No, you weren’t there to be strong for her when she was weak. No, you weren’t there to distract her mind, to draw a broken smile on her face. No, you weren’t there to show her that a real man shows up. You never were her rock, although she was always yours. She was the one who pulled you back together. She was the one who made you believe in yourself again. And she was the one who stayed when you were at your worst while everyone else just gave up on you.

You never appreciated how lucky you were. You didn’t take care of the gift God gave you. No, you didn’t show gratitude for the relationship you had, you sabotaged it. No, you didn’t take care of the love you were given, you threw it away. No, you didn’t put effort to grow the connection you shared, you dismissed it. She was the one who was thankful she had you in her life. She was the one who knew what she had so she protected it. She was the one who invested herself. She was the one who took the risk. She was the one who fought, but lost. She was the one who tried, but failed. She was the one who loved, but got hurt. She was the one who stayed, but was abandoned.

You never were her forever person because you thought she was like everyone else. You never were her forever person because you were lying to yourself that you could do better. You never were her forever person because you let your fears take over, you let your past win. She was your forever person because she’s not the kind who loves without purpose. She was your forever person because she knew she was the best thing that’s ever happened to you. She was your forever person because she’s brave. And she was your forever person because she’s the forever kind of person.
