We’ve all been in a situation where we like someone, we start talking but then things stop progressing.

You get the feeling that he likes you but there is no initiative from his side.

Then you start making excuses and you label him as a shy guy who needs more time to react.

”Baby steps,” you say. However, nothing seems to change and you begin to question the bond between the two of you.

You ask yourself whether he is hiding his feelings or if he just not interested.

Everything is all mixed up. In one moment, he seems to like you and in the next, he ignores you.

It feels like you two are playing a game of hot and cold, waiting for the other to understand what is going on.

Whatever you do, keep in mind that guys are usually simple when expressing their emotions.

If they like you, they will most probably do something in order to make you aware that they do.

On the other hand, if he has no feelings, he will not show any signs.

There are a few simple ways to find out if he hides his feelings from you or not.

1. Being jealous

If he easily gets jealous every time you mention the name of any other guy, then he probably likes you.

However, he’s just hiding his feelings. When random men like your Instagram photos, an uninterested guy won’t be bothered.

On the other hand, a guy who likes you will unconsciously react as the jealousy inside of him comes to life.

This is especially the case at the beginning of dating. Men tend to be most jealous at the very start, when they are still getting to know you.

At this stage, every other guy is a potential enemy as he can easily steal you from him.

On the contrary, a guy who is not interested doesn’t care about other guys as he doesn’t see himself with you whatsoever.

2. Staying in touch

Another way to tell if a guy hides his feelings from you or not is by seeing how much effort he puts into staying in touch with you.

If he feels that you two could be something more, he will make sure to invite you on a date, call you, and text you.

When a guy likes you, he will be so focused on a conversation with you that he will remember every single detail from it.

You will even ask yourself how that is possible. He does it because he genuinely listens to you and wants to understand where you are coming from.

On the contrary, a guy who’s not into you will forget everything you told him before.

Your words are not important to him so he doesn’t care if he misses out on something.

Next time you go on a date, share a small detail from your life with him and see if he remembers it. If he forgets, he’s probably not into you.

5. Caring about you and your life

When a guy is not into you, besides not caring about what you are saying, he will also not care about what’s going on in your life.

If he never makes an effort to send you a ‘how was your day’ message, then he doesn’t care about you in the way you care about him.

When a guy likes you, he will sincerely care about everything that’s going on in your life.

He will want to know how you are doing and he will make himself available for any kind of help you may need.

This is his way of showing you that he cares, but it may be too early for him to express his feelings otherwise.

6. Telling his friends about you

The easiest way to find out whether a man is hiding his feelings or if he’s not interested is through his friends.

So, if you ever stumble on some of his friends, you can test the waters and see where you stand.

Usually, men love to brag about an amazing woman they are going out with. And who better to brag to than their friends.

If you two accidentally see one of his friends and that friend’s facial expression makes it clear that he has never seen you before (meaning your guy never showed your picture to his friends), then he’s probably not interested.

However, if a guy likes you but is hiding it, his friends will know all about you. He must’ve mentioned you to them.

Maybe they don’t know that he likes you, but trust me, he made sure to tell them about you.

Sometimes, it can be really hard for you to admit to yourself that a guy doesn’t like you, especially if you are really into him.

However, tricking your mind to believe that he is shy and that he takes more time to react can only make you hurt more.

You will be stuck, waiting for him to make a move, and that move will probably never come.

So, watch carefully for the signs and be genuine with yourself. Fooling yourself won’t bring you any good. It will only make you sink deeper.

Remember that it’s better to be alone than with someone who doesn’t have the same intentions as you.
