You’ve probably heard about a couple of signs that prove you’re compatible with your partner. Some of them make sense, others are a bit weird. But how can you know if you’re destined to have a successful relationship?
Starting a relationship sometimes feels like gambling: who’s going to give up first, who’ll love more, will they get married? None of these questions are important when you meet the one. And, I promise you, you’ll know when he shows up in your life.
Feeling safe, trusting your partner completely, and helping each other grow are just some of the signs you’ve found the one. He’ll go out of his way to see you smile and you’ll laugh constantly at his jokes (even though they aren’t always funny).
Your friends and family like him a lot and you feel more than welcome in his social circles. Sounds pretty simple, doesn’t it?
Of course, sharing the same values and being able to picture your future together are clear signs that you’re compatible and that your relationship will last long. But can you come up with some unusual signs that you’ve hit the jackpot?
Let me share something I’ve learned and it has no connection to these popular beliefs of ideal partnership.
1. You fight
Yes, first and foremost, you fight. You’re not afraid to express your opinion even if it’s different from his. He can freely state his as well and if conflicts come up, you’re ready to solve them.
Those will mostly end up being compromises because you want your partner to be happy and satisfied with the decision. Fighting only means that you care and that you have healthy communication in your relationship.
2. You accept each other’s quirks
He enjoys munching snacks in bed, you go absolutely bonkers when it rains. You may have some weird food preferences, or he simply forgot to soak the dirty plate he just used. Both of you may have some weird habits that the other one finds… Irresistible!
Some minor arguments about certain quirks may appear, but you’ll settle them swiftly. You adore your person just the way he is and all those, sometimes annoying, strange things make him who he is.
3. There is no awkward silence
When you’re with each other, even silence is comfortable. Both of you can do your thing or read a book. As long as you’re together, nothing beats that.
Silence with your love is pleasant and you never wonder what they’re thinking about because you both know that the bliss and serenity you feel at that moment cannot be expressed using words.
4. You are wholesome individuals
You are an amazing couple, but also two wholesome individuals! Everybody likes spending time in your company and you are strong and independent on your own. You give each other freedom and respect each other’s uniquenesses.
Dependency on your partner when you’re in a committed relationship is not healthy and you both are well aware of that. You enjoy spending time on your own, almost as much as you love it when they’re around.
5. You have strong physical attraction
Showing affection to your partner is a must in a romantic relationship. If his love language is physical touch, he’ll need a couple of backrubs, a lot of hugs, and a bunch of kisses!

6. You can sense when the other one is not feeling good
You can’t always explain how or why, but you can feel when your partner’s mood changes. Even if something minor upsets him, you’ll know it. You’ll know he’s looking for salt while you’re having lunch before he says anything.
The same happens the other way around as well. He knows the reason behind your mood swings. Most of the time you finish each other’s sentences and people around you find that adorable (even though they may think how you’re practicing that behind closed doors).
7. You know him the best
In some cases, it seems like he knows you better than you know yourself. Did he tell you how he can be vulnerable in your presence and freely express his feelings? I’m sure you know some secrets about each other that no one else does.
And that’s the magic of it! You’re in a committed and healthy relationship with your best friend and partner in crime. What else could you ask for?
8. You playfully tease each other
Because he knows all those wacky things about you, isn’t it natural that he’ll tease you? But don’t nod your head and pretend like you’re the innocent one – you do the same and you enjoy it!
You’re playful a lot of the time and you call each other out for the mistakes you make. Your sense of humor is the same and you respect previously set boundaries. Oh, and you probably do some of those childish things together like making soap bubbles or origami hearts for each other.
9. You simply fit into each other’s lives
You both are weirdoes who accept the other without thinking twice about it. Your schedules match, and your friends and family are absolutely crazy about you two! Nobody can think of a better couple if asked.
Everything comes effortlessly and naturally, like you’re both going with the flow and not battling against it. You celebrate small wins together and you make sure your loved one always has a smile on his face.
