When you learn to be on your own, beautiful things can happen.
None of us dreams of spending life on our own. We’re usually taught that it leads to an unhappy and lonely life.
But does it really work like that? Is it certain that we can’t be happy unless we’re in a relationship?
If I could, I would now write down a full row of bad words that could explain my opinion on this popular belief.
We all crave being in a relationship but we have no idea how amazing it can feel to live a life of our own, without pressure to do things that others tell us that we should do.
As a strong believer in the power of self-love, I just wanted to show you what happens when you learn to be on your own, when you learn to love your single life, and when you don’t go through it looking for a man.
Truth be told, men will come and go, and only the rare ones will decide to stay.
So why should you live your life trying to please them when the chances are that they’ll leave no matter what?
Why should you chase them, thinking that you’ll be happier with them, when you can be happy on your own?
To prove to you that I’m right, I’ll give you a list of beautiful things that happen when you learn to be on your own.
Do you think that I’m wrong? Then keep reading and let me show you how amazing you can start feeling once you know what you’re doing.
1. You stop being afraid of being alone
I’m well aware that all of us have periods of time when we’re terrified of being alone.
It feels as if your whole life will fall apart just because you’re living it on your own.
The problem is that this feeling comes from society and the pressure it puts on us.
But once you learn to be on your own, that feeling completely evaporates.
You can’t find it in your head, nor in your heart. Something happens and then it’s gone!
After that, you stop chasing men only because you want them to fill the void in your heart. You don’t feel a need to do that anymore.
Instead, you feel comfortable living your life on your own and no matter how much others keep pressuring you to find someone, you simply don’t listen to them.
You become happy and you realize that you don’t need a man to make your dreams come true.
2. When you learn to be on your own, you learn to love yourself harder than you ever have
All of us are in a complicated relationship with ourself. Sometimes we’re in love with ourself and sometimes we fight with the reflection in the mirror.
This exhausts us and makes us feel that we aren’t getting anywhere. It seems as if we’re going one step forward and then one step back.
Time passes but you feel stuck in the same place, but when you learn to be on your own, you also learn to love yourself, and it becomes true love.
Because you spend so much time on your own, you learn about yourself more and more.
You get an idea of what makes you happy and what makes you sad.
You finally understand what you actually want from life and what your biggest fears are.
It all fits and you eventually get the feeling as if you’ve solved a huge puzzle that you’ve been trying to complete your whole life.
Now that it’s finally done, you can’t stop staring at it and appreciating it.
3. You don’t give a darn about what other people have to say
When you learn to be on your own, you no longer care about what others have to say about you.
You know that people will always find something to comment on and it doesn’t bother you anymore.
You could live your life worrying but what’s the point in that?
So, you go to dinner on your own whenever you feel like it and you buy one ticket to see a new movie all alone.
You know that people could give you weird looks, feel sorry for you, or roll their eyes when they see you all alone, but guess what? YOU DON’T CARE!
You’ve been a prisoner of your own life for too long and it’s time to finally start living it the way you want.
4. When you learn to be on your own, you let destiny guide you through life
Before, you used to chase after guys. You made yourself believe that each one of them could be the right one.
So you gave them your heart, your time, and your energy and what did you get in return? A big fat nothing!
But once you learn to be on your own, you also learn to let go of the pressure.
You don’t feel the need to make things happen faster than they’re destined to.
Instead, you let fate guide you through life. You let it show you the right way to go without fear that you’ll end up in the wrong place.
You know that God’s plans are bigger than you and you no longer feel the need to control them.
It’s easier to let things happen the way they’re supposed to than to stress about them and end up with something that wasn’t good for you from the very beginning.
5. Your self-esteem skyrockets
Do you remember those times when you looked for validation from others? The times when you did things in order to make others happy?
Now, they’re finally gone! You know your worth and you don’t need anyone to tell you how great it is.
Why would you listen to what they have to say when you already know how much you can listen to yourself, especially because you know how mean people can get?
They’re always looking for something to talk about.
But now, you believe that your alone time is sent from above and that it’s the one thing that’ll make you become the best version of yourself.
