Our best friends are always there, through all our big changes and simple things in life. Our parents love them, our house is practically theirs and they know our closets inside and out. While they stick to us for a reason and we do a lot to keep them around; it wouldn’t hurt to remind them of how special they are. So, words do matter! Go make that call, shoot a text, meet up and tell them:
- I am so proud of you
You don’t need a special occasion for this one. I’m sure you’re proud of them for being who they are, so go ahead and let them know.
- I am grateful for having you in my life
Don’t say this only on Thanksgiving!
- All my best memories include you
Some of them are shared with you over a cup of coffee, but most of them wouldn’t happen if you weren’t there
- You are my best friend!
This one is important, especially if you’re an extrovert that hangs out with tons of people. Remind your bestie they’re special.
- You can count on me
Sometimes, we want to protect the people we love and we avoid telling them things. Let them know that shouldn’t be the case—you’re there for the bad moments too.
- You’re my person
This one will work perfectly if you’re a fan of Grey’s Anatomy. Even if you’re not, being someone’s person sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?
- You help(ed) me grow
Let them know you wouldn’t be a person you are today if it wasn’t for them.
- I trust you
Trust is hard to earn, so although it might be obvious to both of you—saying it from time to time would be nice.
- Thanks for having faith in me and supporting my dreams!
In other words—thanks for having my back always, bestie.
- I love you.
Just say it.
