Things fall apart. We tend to panic and spiral down into a pool of negative thoughts. No matter what you’re going through, selfcare is endlessly important. After all, you’re stuck with yourself. Here are a few things to do when it seems like your world is crumbling down;

  1. Get some sleep and drink water!

The world always seems awful when you’re exhausted. Get enough sleep so you can start brainstorming on all the possible ways out. Eat nutritious food, drink water—be physically ready to fight your problems away.

  1. Narrow your focus down and stop overthinking—start acting

Dwelling on your problem won’t solve anything. Think of all the things you can do right now to make it better; and start right away. Step by step.

  1. Lean on people around you

Your friends and family are there for a reason. Stop thinking of yourself as a burden and ask for help; both personal and professional—if needed.

  1. Don’t be too harsh on yourself

Sure, you might have caused all the mess you’re in. However, punishing and blaming yourself won’t get you anywhere. Acknowledge you’ve made a mistake, learn from it and work towards fixing it.

  1. See this as a phase, not the end

You will get through this sooner or later. Things change and you are strong. Convince yourself this is just a bad phase and work through it. One step at a time.
